TL;DR — Midnight Dua has no accounts, no servers and no analytics. Your counter, streak, garden, private duas and prayer times live in this browser’s local storage and nowhere else. Clearing your site data erases all of it, permanently.
What is stored, and where
On your device only: dhikr count and cycles, your nightly totals for the last 30 nights, spins, streak, hasanat, bonus spins, tonight’s task list, saved duas, what you have read tonight, repeat counters, quiz scores, planted garden, last 5 spin results, your Maghrib and Fajr times, and your private vault duas.
Storage key:midnightdua-v1 in localStorage.
Never collected: name, email, phone, contacts, location, device ID, browsing history.
No transmission: the app makes no network request of its own. Nothing you type or tap leaves your device.
Share cards: the image is drawn inside your browser and never uploaded. It only leaves your device if you choose to send or save it. The WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp with the dua’s text filled in; nothing is sent until you press send there.
The 100 duas and 8 stories
All Arabic text, transliteration, translation and references are bundled inside the page. Nothing is fetched while you read, so the whole app works offline.
Fonts
Amiri, Inter and JetBrains Mono are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com). Google receives your IP address as part of that request, as with any web font. No cookie is set by the font request.
Advertising — Google AdSense
Publisher ID ca-pub-4316526333969678. Ads support a free app, and they are deliberately limited:
In-page formats only. Anchor ads, vignettes and side rails are turned off, so no ad can cover the Sebha, the Wheel or the Portal timer while you worship.
Excluded areas: the Sebha circle and the Portal timer.
Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads. You can review and change those choices at google.com/settings/ads, and in the EEA, UK and Switzerland a consent prompt appears before personalised ads are served.
Permissions the app asks for
Vibration — a 20ms haptic on each bead. Granted by the browser, no prompt, no data.
Sound — every tone is generated by the Web Audio API: the 880Hz bead tick, the opening and closing chimes, and the wheel’s ticking. No audio file is downloaded and nothing is recorded. The microphone is never accessed. Both sounds have an off switch.
Screen wake lock — requested only while you are counting on the Sebha, released when you leave the tab. If the browser refuses it, counting works exactly the same.
Camera, microphone, contacts, location — never requested.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children under 13. Ads are configured as non-personalised for users the browser or region signals as children.
Your control
“Reset data” on the Wheel tab erases every stored value immediately. Clearing site data in your browser has the same effect. There is no copy anywhere else to delete.

MIDNIGHT DUA — 00:00
A companion for the last third of the night. Open it at 00:00, count a sebha, read a dua, plant something that outlives the night.
What is inside
100 dua cards — drawn from a library of 40 verified supplications with Arabic, transliteration, translation and source, cycled across 100 cards. Star the ones you keep coming back to, mark what you have read tonight, and use the 3× / 7× / 33× / 100× counter inside a card for the duas meant to be repeated.
8 prophet stories — Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, Yusuf, Ayyub and Muhammad ﷺ, each with one lesson for tonight.
Sebha — a bead ring on a progress dial, with tassel and glow. Targets of 33, 99, 100 or an open count; a guided post-salah sequence of 33, 33, 34 and the closing tahlil; a nightly goal with the last 7 nights charted. A chime opens each dhikr, an 880Hz tick marks each bead, and the screen is kept awake while you count.
Wheel of Barakah — 8 segments, 5 items each, turning for 4 seconds with a ticking that slows as the wheel does. One free spin a night, then spins earned by finishing what you were given. Results collect in a list you tick off.
Last Third Portal — live clock, a real calculation of the final third between your Maghrib and Fajr, and a chime when the window opens and again at Fajr.
Night quiz — five questions a round, drawn from 24 on the prophets, the duas in this app and the night prayer. Every answer carries its source, and a perfect round earns a bonus spin on the Wheel.
Share cards — tap ↗ on any dua to turn it into an image with the Arabic, its meaning and its source, ready for WhatsApp, Instagram or saving.
99 Names of Allah and Ramadan — reading pages with search, the authentic Ramadan duas, and a countdown to the first fast.
Why the Wheel replaced nasheeds
The audio version shipped megabyte-sized files, which stalled the first paint and produced a white screen on slow connections. The Wheel is CSS and a transform: it draws instantly, plays nothing, and gives a different result every night.
How it is built
One HTML file. No framework, no build step, no service calls.

Every dua carries its source: a Qur’an chapter and verse, or a hadith collection. Wordings follow the widely transmitted short forms. If you find an error in an Arabic text or a reference, write to us and it will be corrected in the next release.
